Kids in the Country

A few weekends later, while Dad was off having fun in New York City... we headed back to the country.  It was an awesome weekend :)  Even more baby calves, 4-wheeler rides, feeding cows in the tractor, feeding the bucket calf.  Oh, what fun!!
This time, Kaleb decided he owned the bucket calf and the barn.  It was a beautiful weekend and if we couldn't find Kaleb- he was in the barn checking on his calf.  He'd crawl through the little red gate side-ways like any good country kid knows is the fastest and easiest way in when spindly five years old.  We were heading out to feed in the tractor and Kaleb wasn't in the house.  As I yelled his name from the top of the hill and about a minute later he came running out of the barn- he yelled back 'I had to check my calf, Mom'.  And, life was perfect.  Absolutely perfect!

After all that work, you gotta have a hot chocolate with Grandma :)
Sunday morning, we had 'home church'.  Grandma read the story about Joseph and his coat of many colors and how his brothers didn't treat him well but God took care of him.  And, how Joseph was blessed by God which allowed him to bless his family when they were in need.
Our home version of Kids Bible Time was complete with a coloring page of course...
Who knew Grandpa was so skilled at coloring?
Pretty sure his would have won the coloring contest had there been one!
More feeding cows and according to Kaleb checking 'his' cows :)

The perfect spring day in the country concludes with feeding the bucket calf.
Then, burying the favorite most patient kitten in the world with tumble weeds.
What a great weekend!!  So, much fun.  A little work and lots of great memories :)
